People are strange.
Hello! Since the very beginning of iMGSRC.RU in 2006, we have supported GIF images. This was important because many memes of that time were distributed in this format. But, as I said at the beginning — people are strange and try to upload videos as GIF animations. At first glance, nothing terrible, but there are several things i have to tell you why this is a very bad idea. The quality of “video” in a format not initially intended for video is disgusting. Also, the size of this video is unacceptably large. For comparison: some of our users uploaded GIF files of 120 MB, which is the same as a normal high-quality video of full 3 minutes in length.
THEREFORE, in order to save traffic for our valued visitors who do not know how long to wait for a single image, GIF images are now shown as static JPG previews and we are working on a more convenient solution.
