I still have that toy gun also. Back then they didn’t have the little orange cap on the end and it looks real. There is no way anyone could walk around with it these days even if you are a little kid.

Yeah the guns were so realistic back then, and then toy guns came out with that orange cap on the end, there must have been a child safety law passed. I went out trick-or-treating as a Planet of the Apes gorilla in 1973 when I was 10, I carried a toy rifle that came with the ape mask, it looked very realistic, I'm lucky nobody thought I was a real soldier ape! LOL

I remember the plant of the apes tv show. That was pretty cool. I even had some of the mego figures from it.

I really enjoyed that TV show too, I was a big Apes fan! I still have all the Mego action figures and toys! Fun times! Too bad we weren't neighbors, we could have played with our apes together! ;D

I wouldn’t care about how old anybody was (even adults) just as long as they wanted to play with toys. LoL 😀

I still occasionally do to target or Walmart and check out the toy section. And sometimes buy stuff. 😀 I just bought a Life-size figure of the child from The Mandalorian but I had to put it away cuz my dog kept barking at him.

Haha, cool! I guess you're still a Star Wars fan, awesome! How big is the figure? That must have been funny with your doggy barking at him, hehe! Sorry you had to put him away! Maybe you could put him on a table or up on a shelf or something.

I converted a room in my house to a walk in closet and I have him on a shelf in there for now.

That sounds really nice! He is very safe in there and doggy is very safe outside the closet, hehe!

and talking about realistic to guns, who wants another story??? Don’t everybody raise your hands at once. .......... well When I was in 10th grade I was a library aid and audio-visual aid (yes I was a geek LoL). All of us guys decided we would bring in water guns and have a water gun fight in the back room of the library. I brought in my entertech water gun Which looked like a real uzi (with no red tip). And we all had a water gun fight in the back room and we got EVERYTHING soaking wet. LoL one of the librarians came back there (and this was the mean one that we all didn’t like), we all thought we would be in big trouble but all she did was shake her hair and said you boys have to stop and than walked out, and I don’t think she ever said anything to anybody else and she never said anything to us about it after also. Also the water gun that I brought in to school was so realistic I could have gotten into REAL trouble. When your younger you just don’t think about stuff like that I guess. 😬

Haha that sounds like so much fun with the water guns! When we were kids we knew we had toy guns but we didn't think somebody might think they were real guns! But there were probably incidents back then when folks and cops thought they were real guns and kids got hurt, that's probably why they put the orange cap on the end of the gun to make it look less realistic, I got one of those at Kmart, it was an M-16 toy machine gun that made a lot of noise, cool toy even though it had that orange cap, hehe.
