Фильм снят по произведению Юрия Яковлева "Собирающий облака". Коля Малявкин вовсе не хулиган. И зря его так называет классная преподавательница. Просто он очень деятельный человек. И каждая его фантазия немедленно становится делом. Добрым и полезным делом. Только взрослые, почему-то, не хотят этого замечать. Они не видят, что листя, накленные на стены - это красиво. Они только ругаются, что приходится убирать весь этот "мусор". Они видят мусор вместо красоты. Но Коля не унывает - он собирает облака. Слонов и бегемотов, маленькие и большие - их невозможно вымести шваброй и никто никогда не назовет их мусором.
