This little girl was walking with her mother. Somehow, her sad enchanting eyes caught my attention and when I tried saying hello to her she just would not talk. i looked at her mother asked her what her name was... the worried and sad mother asked me - "why? why would you like her? No one wants us, no one likes us - we were thrown out of our homes...." she sounded distressed as she spoke of her pain..... the little girl's father was an engineer in iraq and was brutally killed during the war alongwith her little 8month old baby brother - much near their home. The girl had witness her father dying and since that day, she had stopped speaking. The aid people brought them to the Emirates and they were living as refugees. It was heart breaking....as her mother shed tears talking how the girls father died and how they were homeless, the little girl had no reaction, with these innocent eyes, she looked at her mother, looked at me and slowly put her head down, holding her mother's hand tight. It felt like she had lost her youth and any hope life could offer. These painful, sad, burdened eyes of this little soul said so much silently.
