This comes from a book called "Two Centuries of Shoemaking: Start-rite 1792-1992". The factory in Norwich, England, sends it's designers and production managers out to local schools to check new (1992) styles on children's feet. Sadly, the likelyhood of this boy discarding his trainers for a pair of nice t-bar sandals are a bit remote.

Wonderful picture. Nice schoolboy with shorts and kneesocks, showing his smooth bare thighs and knees. Every schoolboy should be dressed this way the year round.
